You may have been physically training for weeks, months, even years. However, if you haven’t also been conditioning your mind for success, you will undoubtedly be reducing your competitive advantage.
Harnessing the power of your subconscious mind is critical skill for any sportsperson, even more so for endurance athletes. The way you think, your consistent, automatic thoughts, programming and language patterns massively affect your success; never more so than on the run-up to and during race days.
You can do any amount of physical training; still, without consciously managing your thoughts, internal dialogue and the consistent language you use, it’s unlikely that you’ll be operating at peak performance levels.
It’s no longer in question that the psychology of your ‘game’ is every bit as important as the physical aspects. With this in mind, I have devised the ‘Athlete Mindset’ series of blog posts to give you a better understanding of the relationship between your subconscious mind and your performance.
I have combined the best of my knowledge as an NLP Master Practitioner (Neurolinguistic Programming), CBT Therapist (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy), EFT Therapist (Emotional Freedom Technique) with my experience of working with dozens of professional, semi-professional and amateur athletes to help you create long-lasting behavioural change that will supercharge your potential and take your performance to the next level.
